What is the issue?
Microsoft is disabling support for Basic Authentication for some protocols in O365. This is happening on a random basis for tenants from October 1st, 2022. For more information from Microsoft, read here.
If you have configured SpamTitan to perform authentication to the UI using IMAP, and you are authenticating against O365, your users may no longer be able to log into SpamTitan (for example, to view their quarantine) once this change takes effect on your tenant.
What is the solution?
If you are using IMAP authentication, the following option is available:
-
Use a one-time re-enablement that allows you to continue using IMAP until January 2023, at which time you must switch to an alternative authentication method. Click here to learn more.
To select an alternative authentication method, go to Settings > Access/Authentication > Web Authentication.

See Web Authentication Settings for more information on configuring alternative authentication methods.
