You can use the Storage Platform Console to set your Enterprise Server Edition (ESE) backup agents to be updated automatically to the latest version that is available on the Storage Platform.


You can enable auto updates per Collection or per Group.

  1. In the Account Management view of the Console, select the required Collection or Group name and click the Configure button on the toolbar. Alternatively, right-click the Collection or Group name and go to Configure.

  2. On the Updates tab, select the applicable Auto Update Backup Clientoption.
    • Storage Platform Default (recommended) - usually the same as Yes, unless a version roll-out has been paused
    • Yes - auto updates are enabled 
    • No - auto updates are disabled


Important: When setting Agent auto updates on Collection level, the setting will only be applicable to new Groups, i.e. the option will not automatically be propagated to existing Groups. Child Groups should be updated indvidually.
