To configure the ESE Agent to shut down the Windows Server operating system after a backup has taken place, follow the steps below.

1. Create a batch file

Create a batch file called RunBackupAndShutdown.bat containing the following:
start powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file backupandshutdown.ps1

2. Create the PowerShell Script

Create a PowerShell file called BackupAndShutdown.ps1 in the same location as the batch file, containing the following:
# wait three minutes for any Storage Platform Responses
start-sleep -s 180
# shut the computer down
stop-computer -force

3. Create a batch file

Add the batch file to the Agent's Backup Scripts configuration, set to run after each backup.
